My dinner at Kol is one of the happiest dinners that I’ve ever had. The service is on another level and the food is so undeniably delicious while still managing to be unique and inventive. I think about it all the time and I can’t wait to go back. This post was made in connection with a Toast promotion.

We had the winter tasting menu and all the dishes were curated to perfection, they looked incredible but tasted even better. It was all amazing, but the lamb saddle/mole for me was something i will be dreaming about. Also the service was amazing and the little touches were very sweet like an anniversary card and amazing artisenal ceramics. They were also very flexible for my partner who has dietary requirements and her subsituted meals were equally as delicious.

A lovely lunch a a very special restaurant, service understated and brilliant, wine a fantastic choice and the food speaks for itself. Fining with a twist, spice and a little Mexico to boot!

A master of Mexican food, spice heat is GORGEOUS on the food!! It let's the plates flavours sing while the spice is a wonderful backup chorus on many of the dishes! I want to come back again just for the tacos. I could eat them all day long!

Went for my birthday dinner and the team exceeded expectations - the few additional details such as a birthday card and a glass of Madeira from my year of birth made it extra special and shows the preparation behind it The food was great! It is definitely on the sophisticated side compared to other Michelin star restaurants I’ve been to but the flavours were on point! Highlights were the langoustine and lamb tacos for sure - the crab dish and dessert did not impress me too much Overall I think it’s a great restaurant to experience once in London

This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend. As it was our first visit to London, we were uncertain about what to expect in terms of cuisine, but Kol surpassed our expectations. Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome and were escorted to our table. The service was exceptional, with multiple staff members attending to our needs. They alternated in serving and responding to our queries. Our primary server, Peter, was extremely pleasant and took the time to address all our questions and provide helpful suggestions. We were also greeted by Chef Santiago Lastra, who was friendly and is ridiculously talented. His culinary creations were outstanding, providing one of the most delightful dining experiences we have ever had. I opted for the wine pairing, which proved to be worth it due to the perfect portion sizes. The sommelier, Rob, was quite helpful in explaining the characteristics of the wines served that evening. Thanks to Caitlin & Tony who run a smooth ship. Flawless, really! I refrain from providing excessive details to avoid spoiling the surprises for first-time visitors. The cuisine was incredible, the service was wonderful, and the restaurant itself is exceptional. A visit to the Mezcaleria bar downstairs for some delicious after dinner drinks is also recommended. We look forward to dining and seeing you again on our next visit to London. Best xoxo, The Americans lol :)

KOL offers the best of both worlds: the authenticity of Mexican cuisine combined with the freshness of British ingredients, all brought together by Chef Santiago Lastra's creativity and his team's warm hospitality. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by friendly staff who'll take your coats and bags before showing you to your table, with smiling faces all around as you pass through the restaurant until your table. Every dish here is a work of art, both in taste and presentation. You'll experience a wide range of flavours, from horseradish snow to jalapeno sorbet. Their tasting menu is a smoky journey, starting with three starters, moving on to seven mains, and finishing with two desserts - plus the optional extras of Huarache and Bunuelos. We tried the latter and can heartily recommend it for a sweet finish. The staff are brilliant at explaining each dish, and their attention to detail is spot on - they even folded my napkin while I went to the loo. We went for the regular and pescatarian tasting menus and loved both. The pescatarian option had a few clever tweaks but didn't compromise on flavour at all. Despite being quite meat-focused, they do a brilliant job with the pescatarian menu, which isn't always the case in fine dining spots. Standout dishes for us were the Ceviche, Amarillo and Mole from the mains, and the Nieve and Bunuelos from the desserts. “The most original ceviche” and the “how on earth can they make this good palette cleansers?” we said, for Ceviche and Nieve, respectively. As it was our anniversary, they kindly surprised us with two complimentary desserts - traditional Mexican celebration cakes, which was a lovely touch. If we had to sum up the food in two words, it'd be 'original' and 'smoky'. Almost every savoury dish has a hint of smokiness from their oven, which pops up now and then as you eat. And the interior - an artwork. The design, furniture, decorations, music, lighting, and all the little details come together to make you feel like you're much further south than London. It's probably the most visually beautiful dinner we've ever had. After dinner, they suggested we try some cocktails in their downstairs bar, next to their famous chef's table. The same design style continues down there, as does their attention to detail - the bartender even kept my cocktail in a small fridge while I popped to the loo again. If you like refreshing cocktails, their Fizz is a must-try. Naturally, it's a must-visit for anyone who loves Mexican cuisine and wants to discover more than just tacos in a fine dining setting. While it might seem a bit pricey, the experience you get here is worth every penny. The little touches really make it special, like the "Happy Anniversary" card they gave us, signed by every member of the team - just another warm and thoughtful gesture that adds to the whole experience.
